Alpha Tau Omega Chapter Advisor
Brother Gene Ehlert
Letter from the Chapter Advisor
Being the Chapter Adviser of ATO at ISU has been an awesome experience for me. For the past 14 years I have traveled from West Des Moines to Ames every Monday afternoon to have dinner with the brothers and attend their chapter meetings. I generally attend their Philanthropies, Social Service projects, Parent's Weekend, Homecoming, and any other events where I feel I can support for their efforts. It is very rewarding to have this special time to spend with the young men and to see them mature academically, personally and spiritually. This is somewhat of an experimental time for these young men and it is very satisfying for me to know that I am there for them when they have special needs.
Our Board of Trustees also meets with the officers of the chapter, namely the Executive Board members, for 1 1/2 hours once each month to help develop the specific leadership skills needed in their particular area of responsibility. All the young men at ATO are given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills with special emphasis placed on strengthening their integrity and character. We continue to look for academically strong, leadership oriented, Christian young men so that we can continue to have one of the top fraternities at ISU. I am always available to discuss ATO at Iowa State University by phone or email.
Love and Respect,
