Alumni Relations
This past year has been a busy one for both current undergraduates and alumni alike!
To begin the school year, we had a celebration of the 100th year of the Gamma Upsilon Chapter. The Centennial Celebration was an event lasting multiple days. It began on a Friday afternoon with a golf tournament, followed later that evening by a delicious dinner at Hickory Hall. The dinner was attended by approximately 150 brothers as well as ATO National CEO Wynn Smiley. Chapter officers prepared a slideshow for the dinner and some of the more recent alumni announced the founding of the Gene Ehlert Scholarship. It was a fun time for current brothers to talk to alumni as well as for alumni to reconnect with brothers they may not have seen since college. Saturday morning, the chapter hosted a tailgate before the football game. Many alumni showed up for the tailgate and attended the football game. Overall, the Centennial celebration went extremely well and a good time was had by all.
This past year also saw the formation of a new Gamma Upsilon Alumni Association. This association is headed by brother Rolf Hansen as the President along with officers Jerry Martinson as Vice President and Rick Gleeson as Secretary/Treasurer.
If you are an alumnus looking to become more involved with the fraternity, there are a few different options available. Our Board of Trustees, which helps to guide the executive board of the chapter meets once a month and is always looking for new members. Our Corporation Board deals with the physical house itself and its upkeep, they also meet once a month. Our new Alumni Association to be effective needs participation from many alumni and is the least time consuming way to get more involved.
